I know a lot of you love the I survived books that are based on natural disasters and tragedies. We recently received new books that center around the science of natural disasters.
Click here to go to our library catalog for books on natural disasters. This week we have several new additions that we are showcasing that show the impact women make in science, technology, and mathematics. These ladies show that they can do amazing things and so can you!
We also have several new graphic novels from the Max Axiom series and about the science involved in being Batman. The Max Axiom series shows how technologies have been invented, such as: cell phones, space travel, and combustion engines. The Batman series looks at the science behind Batman's cool gadgets. Remember if you don't see the book you want in the library, ask Ms. Birrer and you can have it placed on hold for you. New Additions:

Our kindergarten and first grade students are working hard to become story tellers. They used the book "Tuesday" by David Wiesner that is almost all pictures and they had to tell the story. Afterwards they got to use the library puppets to tell their own story. Students practiced changing their puppet voices and telling a story that had a problem and a solution. We have some amazing story tellers in our library!
This year we have added lots of new and exciting fiction. They are so new and exciting that they are rarely on the shelves! Some new books we have been purchasing include the Dear Dumb Diary series (year one and two), the entire Geronimo and Thea Stilton set, and Pokemon books.
For our younger students we have brand new books ready that are on kindergarten and first grade reading level and have more coming. |
